D&H RS2 4020. Went to LIRR and is now Michigan Southern 977. Had a steam generator while on D&H. Last known remaining D&H RS2. Operational $80k

D&H RS3 4071. Went to Lamoille Valley where it got the chopped hood and #7803, then to Western Michigan RR and got #203. Currently in Iowa.
Ran out of oil, seized rods to crank. $30k

D&H RS3 4094. Went to Lamoille Valley where is also got the chopped hood and #7804. Now at Michigan Southern. Missing parts, bad wheels. $40k

D&M RS2 466. Now Michigan Southern 466. Last ran in '97. Freeze damage. $40k

Prices seem high. Michigan Southern is owned by Pioneer Rail.
This post is from January 2008. The RS2 is listed as $80k here. Now they want $92k.

That's through a "dealer". Note the "make offer" box. (I'd bet you could get it right now for that $80,000. Or less, dealing directly with Pioneer.)

Word on the street A Washington Terminal RS1 was sold recently. Anyone hear this?
I heard the one in Newington VA was sold, discussed a few pages back in this thread. No other information...I may do a drive-by to see if it's still there.

From the Alcodiesel list:

"On Thursday, Oct. 15, the railroad museum in Minerva, Ohio is holding an auction, to sell off it's assets. Two of the pieces being sold are Alco S-4 #18, an old South Buffalo unit and former Ohic Rail S-2 102. I believe both units are serviceable, but both units still have friction bearing trucks. If anyone is interested in an operating Alco switcher, you might want to check out:"

Reports are the S-2, 102 has bad wheels.

Description
We have four Alco locomotives available in West Virginia. They have been stored for many years and need some repairs but a lot of the major components are still in decent shape.

We will sell parts and or the whole units to interested parties.

The locomotives available include:
-2 Alco MRS-1 w/ 244D prime mover, GE 752 Traction Motors.

Roller bearing trucks, rebuilt 244D prime mover (with less than 200 HRS on one), all major components intact. Needs batteries to start and run because of how long it sat.

Asking price: $29,500.00 for the one with rebuilt motor and $27,500.00 for the other FOB WVA.

-2 Alco S4 w/ Alco 539 prime movers, GE 731D traction motors.

Friction bearing trucks, cabs need to be replaced, B&O Heritage.

Asking price: $22,500.00 FOB WVA each, $43,000.00 for both.

Price for all four units is $96,000, where is as is.

We will harvest parts/components for the right offer.

Please let us know if interested.

Thanks

These are the ones stored at Cass. They have been there for many years, and are in generally terrible condition. Cass just sold them a while back. I guess this latest sale is by the purchasers, who now hope to make a small fortune reselling them. Good luck with that.
