I was wondering if the Empress of Agincourt was saved? You know, that RSD-17 that was the only one built. Was the engine scrapped? I would like some information on this one of a kinder also?

It is currently undergoing cosmetic restoration at the Elgin County Rwy Museum. I saw it this past summer and have some photos I hope to post online soon.

The last I heard is that the engine runs, but the trucks is what forced this classic into retirement.
Do you know if there is any plans to operate her? Or fix the trucks?

Alcoman is correct-the trucks need work.

The Empress was a favorite of the St. Luc shop, and the shop foreman, Guilio, tried his best to locate serviceable used trucks. But it was more then the people downtown wanted to spend. Sadly, the unit was retired from the CPR's roster.
