2018 O Scale National Convention July Update (1 month to go)

Hey everyone,

We're a little over a month out from convention week. We have a boatload of updates to provide you all. Here's a short list of updates:
  • Several manufacturers will be in attendance including MTH and Loksound in addition to a bunch of vendors and table holders!
  • Two of our convention cars is in stock and should be shipping shortly if it hasn't already. Still waiting on the FGE reefer to get in stock.
  • Model Contest details and forms have been posted. We will be having a sponsored and judged contest. There will be plaques and prizes to first place in each category as well as a display table for non-competing models that everyone wishes to show off!
  • Several more hands-on clinics have been put in the company store. Come build something with our clinicians!
  • These hands-on clinics include a FREE operating session at MMR Andrew Dodge's P:48 layout. Details on all of these are on the recently minted and detailed clinic schedule that has been posted.
  • Layout tours have been posted.
  • The convention hotel sold out, but we have acquired space at other nearby hotels with free shuttles to the convention hotel and DC metro.
  • The details are being worked out, but there will also be a silent auction at the convention.
To recap for those who may not already know, everyone interested in 1/4" scale modeling is invited to the 50th O Scale National Convention, co-sponsored with the NMRA Mid Eastern Region. Standard gauge, narrow gauge, P48, traction, and transit. We welcome everyone from any background and any scale that is interested in O Scale to join us. Come see how the scale is thriving today!

The convention will be held August 22-26, 2018 at the Rockville Hilton Hotel, 1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852.
