I never saw this thread before. It is embarrassing to say, as a Dead fan that I didn't know about this, until my conductor mentioned it while roaming around Montreal, on our layover.

I don't suppose anyone recorded the consist for this special? I've seen stories listing the types of cars (1 diner, 5 sleepers, 2 lounges, 1 baggage car, 1 "staff" car), but nothing in greater detail. I'm surprised that none of the Canadian railfanning publications (Canadian Rail, Branchline, etc) ran one.
