LA Area in the first parts of the movie, looks like some kind of Alco switcher and the ape drives the street sweeper onto a loading dock for fruit reefers being loaded.

Also, Falling in Love - Merryl Streep - lots of Metro North footage.
The Cassandra Crossing (Sophia Loren) is good too - Passengers are stuck on a Euro train with a fatal disease. No country will let them stop.
Ghost - has some good subway footage.
The Clock with Judy Garland has some great footage of Penn Station, as well as a few streetcar scenes.
I'm also remembering a movie that was on TV all the time in the 70's about an earthquake in NYC and people stuck in the subway. They were walking thru the tunnels trying to find a way out, one of the east river tunnels was flooding. Anyone remember the movies name?? I don't think it was part of Pelham was it - been a long time since I saw that??

Runaway train 1985 version... Filmed in Canada supposedly takes place in Alaska. Great film!
Manchurian Canidate 1962 version. Great shots on the NE corridor with a full frontal view of a GG-1!!!!
Starman 1984.. neat looking although fake Santa Fe F units. I like the part were the F units pass the double searchlight signal and the top aspect is out but the bottom one is lit!
Lucas 1986. He likes to ride his bike and tresspass on RR property and his fave place to "think" is under a overpass. LOL

Gotta love Comcast around these parts. Previously Fox Movie Channel, who apparently holds the broadcast rights to "The Day...' was included in the package I presently subscribe to. Now they have decided to make FMC an "add on', or $5 more per month and bundled in with a bunch of sports channels featuring lttle league baseball and high school girl's soccer clubs.

All the Right Moves: Looks cheesy, but it opens with workers leaving a pipe plant. Lo and behold, when the opening music is playing, there is a pretty long shot of two Conrail SD40s.

The Toy, 1982: As Richard Pryor is crossing the tracks, a local led by a KCS SW1500 (the 4338 i'm thinking) is fastly approaching the crossing, horn blaring and the two crewmembers are shouting and waving their flags at him. This movie was filmed around Baton Rouge, if i'm not mistaken.

Another Richard Pryor movie with train is Brewster's Millions where a minor league baseball team plays in a field bisected by an industrial lead. Scene with a little Plymouth or Davenport hauling cars through the game is good.

Also it didn't have just one train, later on Pryor and Scotty Schwartz are distributing their "newspaper" to motorists held up due to an Amtrak (good shot of F40 #358). Even though this movie is funny as heck, it's kind of sad though, as Pryor is now basically an invalid due to MS, and Scotty Schwartz quit Hollywood and is now in porno movies...
