Apparently some rumors are around that RJC is busier than it has been in many years. Coal traffic is up, ethanol trains and some kind of coal shuttle has resulted in three trains operating on some days. Anyone have more information or verification?

Clymer coal heading for Strawberry Ridge is still basically a once-a-week operation.

A seven-day-a-week shuttle is now in place between Cherry Tree and Bigler. Basically, the Rosebud's Stifflertown Mine is shipping raw coal by rail to Rosebud's cleaning facility in Bigler. 40-50 cars loaded in the morning at Stifflertown, three SD40 variants pull it to Clearfield, where more are added for the uphill run to Bigler. Empties are returned to Cherry Tree/Stifflertown either that evening or the next early, early morning.

Ethanol? I believe that's a Cresson-Clearfield operation. The tracks down to Cresson aren't accumulating any rust.
