Virgin Trains USA wants MiamiCentral station to be more than just train stop.
The passenger train company envisions it as a hub for travel, retail and food. And the South Florida-based company put those plans in motion with the recently opened Central Fare food court.

The station could use more transit-centered retail, Romero said. Concepts like luggage shops and convenience stores could do well because of the train operations on the third floor of MiamiCentral, he added.
“We’re trying specifically to bring in folks that are going to be a draw, that are going to give people a reason to come even if they’re not riding the train that day," he said.
Things like the trains, ride-sharing pick-up area and close proximity to Metrorail and Metromover stops make MiamiCentral well-positioned to become a retail and restaurant hub, Romero said.
