Bad enough that when Mikes Train House (M.T.H.) produced an O Scale version of the R&N 100 ton coal hopper they misspelled the name as READING & NORTERN.

Now Weaver Models produced an O Scale model of the R&N "Short Route To Canada" boxcar. Not only did they letter the car as READING BLUE MOUNTAINS & NORTHERN but it was done on a 40' single door boxcar. Where as the R&N's one and only Short Route To Canada boxcar is a 50' double door boxcar.

They also have produced four different numbers (1996,1997,1998 & 1999), even though this is not prototypically correct M.T.H. produced two different numbers as well (1998 & 2001). The actual R&N boxcar number is 1998.

This is not intended to be a jab against Weaver or MTH but rather to inform the RBM&N community and fans. I have purchased all the misspelled cars and consider them to be collectors items. Both companys produce quality cars especially the ones that are still made here in the U.S.A.

Reading Crusader,

You don't have all the misspelled cars.

Try Atlas for a correct model of the 50' boxcar #1998
