On Friday Dec. 20, 2007 the 425 blew her whistle for the first time in over 11 years.
It was reported over on Railfan.net and Trainorder.com that R&N might be running her on a few trips after Christmas is over with. We thank the persons that were involved with this project in bring our little blue locomotive back to life.

Looks a bit cobbled together, but at least it is steaming. Seems the way to generate good PR is to have a retro diesel or steam engine running excursions.

I hope not to derail the topic too much.
Why was 425 taken out of service in the late 1990s?
In the below video 425 is shown towing some Olive Drab coaches. I saw these coaches at RMDI back in 4/07, but are those coaches too old
