Here's some photos I took today while chasing the Mountain Job, which runs from Tamaqua to Mount Carmel and return.

MST: you are obviously familiar with the Reading and Northern. I live in South Jersey and a couple of times that I've been in your area I have had no luck finding R&N traffic on the move. Can you give me some idea of where and when I can find R&N equipment on the move, weekdays or weekends ? Thanks

I have a question about one of R&N's "other" mountain jobs, specifically
the one that runs up the old Reading Catawissa line from East
Mahanoy Junction through Haucks and Tamanend and Quakake
to the new Lofty
connection up to the old LV going over the top of the Catawissa.
From their it goes either up to Hazleton and Jeddo breaker, or down
through Delano to New Boston (both for coal, I think).

How often does this Hazleton/ or Delano/New Boston job run, and to where?

THanks, JS

Is the Mountain Job working out of Port Clinton or Tamaqua these days? Do you have any idea on call times and approximate return time?

mst145, GREAT pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Every once in a while someone will ask the question "What would the Reading look like if it still existed today?". I think your pictures give a pretty good idea.

Now if Andy could only get trackage rights to Port Richmond.
