I did a search of past threads and didn't find my answer, so I'll ask my question.

What was the purpose of the tracks that "ran around" Abrams Yard to the South? I did some exploring over the summer and found there is currently one rusty track in place, but the row is wide enough for two. This row is on a higher grade than the yard though, so I know these weren't just tracks for bypassing the yard. Then today I stumbled upon this old aerial photo that shows two tracks and what appears to be a bulk material site. Can't tell if it's piles of coal or what, but it's certainly piles of something.
