Hello LV fans. I'm research the LV main line from Coxton to Sayre for a model railroad project. At the moment I'm trying to hunt down the locations of the stations and depots. According to a Lehigh Valley Guide, there was a depot in Ransom, Pa. Ransom is the location just above Coxton Yards. Does anybody know where that depot was located?

Also, looking at topographic maps of the Ransom area, I see a large building next to the river that had a siding on the LV. That building is still there today. Does anybody know what that building was (is)?

There's literally a dozen books that in part cover this section.

A friend of mine models this line around the 1985 Conrail period and its
surprising for the lack of photos of this part of LV. There are scattered
photos we've found at Athens, Laceyville, Wyalusing, Meshoppen and
Towanda.

Seems a lot of people concentrated on Sayre, the overlook at Wyalusing
Rocks and not much else. The Towanda bridge shot was also popular too.

Large photo of the LV's "modern" steel coaling tower in Towanda PA.
This tower was built in 1940, and torn down in 1950! a short life..
view is looking compass North, Railroad West, the Susquehanna river bridge is just behind the photographer:

The base with a LV diamond date still exists:

Besides published photos, does anyone have photos of Tunkhannock around
1985-ish or know what was left for customers?

Also..the Shawnee Paper mill at Ransom...were both sides still being rail-served
in that same time period?

Thanks,

Dave

By 1985 the Tunkhannock station was utilized solely by the CR signal department.

Last time the station was observed, 2010, it was still extant but in terrible condition.
