THEN AND NOW
From the mid-1800s, this station served this community outside Worcester with passenger service from two different railroads: the Providence & Worcester; and the New York, New Hampshire and Hartford. The coming of train travel in 1846 was hailed by the community's several hundred residents, proud that their community would soon see more than 1,800 passengers per day pass through (including, of course, many residents on their way to cities near and far).
