For those of you in Fl area the Inland Lakes Railway in Eustis, FL has picked up an NW-2 from GA. (GA Power and Light?) Looks funny but it seems to run good.

I think this NW-2 is only served on ILRR's Mount Dora Champion, but not on its diner trains (Magnolia Sun Lunch Train, Orange Blossom Diner Train, Italian Star Diner Train, Murder Mystery Diner Train, etc. ).
In ILRR pamphlet this year, a steam switcher #75 was said to be imported from a northern state, but because of the rising price of coal, ILRR canceled this plan. What a pity!

The NW-2 is used on the MT Dora line but as it is 1000 HP and the GP-10 they have is 1800 HP (1200 on a good day.) it can pull the others if needed. I don't see them doing that. The unit is being painted in Eustis, FL now in a plum and orange paint job.

I hope all who wanted to ride got the chance to as the Inland Lakes Railway is now closed.. The last trip was on Saturday the 11th of July. The train did not even make it back to Eustis, FL. It started raining and the tracks on the south side of Taveres was flooded with water over six inches over the railhead and the train was forced to load the passengers on to a bus that the railroad contracted out of Mt Dora, FL. The next day the train was returned to Eustis and the day after that it was closed. The equipment remains in Eustis until the Florida Central moves it or it is returned to the owners?

P.S. Anyone know where a guy can get a job?
