The NS yard along N Tryon st (adjacent to Amtrack) has seen some significant recent changes that may be of interest to folks.

Thanks to light rail construction all of the trees and brush which blocked views of the yard from the SE side (Brevard st) have been cleared. In addition the NS inter modal yard has been decommissioned and moved to the airport. This means that you can now see significant amounts of inbound and outbound traffic from the Brevard st side. The Yard is still tough to see do to topography.

My five minute lunch at Brooks Burgers (Brevard and Faison) this morning allowed me to catch Amtrak 73/74 returning from the Atando wye and a mixed freight heading north.
