From 1971 to 1983, L&N originated 233 shipments of jetliner wings out of Nashville's AVCO factory to the SP interchange at Memphis and out to California for the Lockheed L-1011 jetliner. There, of course, were an equal number of reverse empty movements home.

These rode in triple unit covered well flats designed by L&N and carrying reporting marks and numbers AVCX 1-2-3-4001, 1-2-3-4002, and 1-2-3-4003. I'm looking for diagrams, photos, slides, and operating procedures imposed for these cars.

Any information:

Wow... that would be cool to do a model of the AVCO factory and those cars. Anyone in Nashville have the history of the AVCO factory?
