Anybody know who the railway lines shown in AMC's The Walking Dead belong to? The past few episodes this season have had the survivors using tracks headed to a place shown on maps posted trackside by persons unknown called "Terminus." Thanks.

Not sure, but they were nice and shiny indicating recent use.

Considering the only rails in the area they film at are either abandoned, csx, or ns (neither of whom are likely to perrmit filming), they probably went to a nearby shortline... My guess would be either heart of georgia or ga southwesterm.

Based on this post: http://walkingdeadlocations.com/the-box ... rail-yard/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It seems they use some trackage in the gulch area of Atlanta for some of the shots. Maybe if I found some more pictures of the scenes people are talking about, I might could identify the rail locations.

That was back in season one...

This recent episode was definitely rural rail (complete with ga red clay), and judging by the shiny rail head, track that sees regular traffic.

More trackage shown in the season finale, and all rolling stock that was visible was NS, including the 60' hi-cube double-door boxcar the group was locked up in at Terminus at the end of the episode.

Someone on another forum indicated that they were filming "Terminus" in this area: http://goo.gl/maps/wBNtt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's pretty clear the Terminus scenes were shot at Collier Metals, which is literally right next door to a small NS yard almost directly across 75/85 from Turner Field.

And obviously NS had to have said: "Have at it, lads, we're in !!!!!" Free advertising for NS on the most-watched cable TV show in North America. Now, did NS demand a vig for the use of its trackage, rolling stock & power, or was it a "free-o??????"

Given that a lot of the show has been filmed in Senoia, and indeed Senoia doubled as Woodbury in the TV show , I'd say the railroad they used is the NS C-line (former Central of Georgia) that runs from Senioa to Carrollton , and is served by NS's G66 local once or twice a week.

A lot more trackage shown in last night's Season 5 opener. A lot of time was spent on a rusty line with a full canopy of trees going to "Terminus." Terminus had a lot of trackage itself. A 60' double-door NW boxcar was featured prominently as the prison, too.

The rusty trackage with the full canopy of trees appeared again in a flashback scene at the end of Season 6's Episode 4, which just aired this past Sunday night, 11/01/15. Anybody know which line this is? Thanks.

we THINK it's a semi-used branch line in the Senoia area ...

If you look here :

There's an inactive line going east from Senoia to Griffin

Last night's (3/20/16) episode had more trackage scenes. Same area of Georgia, or somewhere else now?
