Good Evening everybody ,

I'm visiting relatives in Newnan GA in a couple of weeks time , and if possible I'd like some information about railfanning there.

From the web , I see that there are two lines in town , the CSX A & WP main line , which hopefully still has the coaling tower , and the NS ex CofG line , now only served by local train G66.

What I'm particularly after is times of trains (especially G66) , and how busy is the CSX line?

Many thanks in advance

If you can, make your way over to Lagrange. It's not far from Newnan. If can get your hands on a scanner the road/radio channel is 32. My ex signal supervisor is based in LaGrange and
lives in Newnan. If you want to see trains I'd be in LaGrange cause anything headed to or from Atlanta going or coming from Nashville to Birmingham, has got to pass thru there. It's called the Lineville Subdivision and it's a busy, heavy traffic, money making subdivision. I worked between Birmingham and LaGrange when I was a signal maintainer. Good luck, hope you enjoy your visit.
