Anyone have good non-fiction american routes for BVE?

I can't seem to find alot of American routes other than NYC subways.

BVE is a free train simulator. It's more well known in Europe with tons of European tracks available for download. But there is also some American tracks such as New York subway lines. Theres a few American locomotives such as F40PH and GP38. (That's all I found)

I started out with the 7 line and it was pretty good.
The elevated subway after Vernon-Jackson Ave (IIRC) has decent graphics but it can definitely be improved.

I am going to try to recreate most of the PRSL Lines for BVE if I can get enough information. I have access to quite a few things, but I need help with getting the tracks started. If anyone has knowledge of building for BVE, please let me know.

Figured I'd bump this up from its watery grave instead of starting a new thread. It's been more than 7 years since the previous postings on this thread, and BVE / openBVE has developed exponentially. There are some great American routes for download, like the Desert Freight / Passenger route, The Rocky mountains route, Seneca - Fairlands, Seneca - Monet, and Blueridge (All of which you can find here: http://www.bve.cz/en/route_table_usa_canada.html) .

In addition, the rolling stock for those routes has also improved greatly, and you can find examples here: http://wwwlocomotivaopenbve.blogspot.com/ (many heavy haul class 1 freight locomotives)
And here: http://www.mediafire.com/openbve <-- this is slightly complicated, because in order to get all objects to display, you must not only download the train file, but you must download the appliance folder and place it in the specific train folder you want the objects to display in. However, if you figure it out, the rolling stock is amazing.

Here are some video examples of today's OpenBVE quality. I will link my playlist on youtube, which contains most of the stock mentioned above, and some foreign stock. Many of my own trains I have modified sound and physics wise to make more realistic, but visually speaking, what you see in those videos is what you download. Enjoy my friends =)

Quick question, is Open BVE compatible with the subway lines? I think I played around with them a lot on the original BVE, and got them from a Swedish site. I'm going to have to check it out.
It runs on Linux too now, doesn't it?

All the city subway lines are compatible with open bve. It has even gone into multiplayer stages. You don't have to get the routes from a sweedish website though you can just get them from BVESTATION which is where they are originally made.

not to mention the quality is MUCH better now after years of development, so the simulations and the route scenarios are much more realistic. Just make sure your computer has the right specs to handle it, or the lag will be unbearable.

Yes, I got it working the other day. I've played with it before under Windows, but this time I got it working under Linux. Ubuntu has it in their software "store", for free. It comes with the UK route. The only problem is, most of the subway lines use .exe files to install the routes and trains, which do not work in Linux. So after a long day, I was able to install a second copy using WINE, and then the exe's would run. But to open the program, you have to navigate to the directory, right-click and open with MONO. I think I had a path issue too, but I ran (from terminal): ln -s $HOME ~/.wine/dosdevices/h:
Not sure if that was the exact thing that cured it, but it works fine now.
