Not sure if this qualifies here or interurbans. Virginia Beach's last rail line was discontinued 10 or so years ago. It ran a branch off that ran into the south part of Virginia Beach, that was abandoned almost 75 years ago. A lot of old railbed can still be found. Attached is an old news article about it:

They used to run old McKeen gasoline cars, as shown here:

The main branch ran to the Oceanfront and connected to the Norfolk Traction system. That was an electric trolley that ran through Cape Henry, now Fort Story, along Shore Drive and down what is now US 13/Northampton Blvd into Norfolk.
