Photo on pg 8 of Classic Trains, Trains of the 1950's shows a WAB F-7 #1160. Truckside is clearly cast by DOFSCO not LFM. Did the carrier buy units from GMD because they operate in Canada?

That's my take on the situation. There are a number of pictures of Wabash(Canada) and N&W(Canada) shots all showing the same group of F's with Dofasco trucks. At the time, Canada had some pretty onerous import laws regarding capital goods, leading GM to produce both autos and locomotives in Canada for local buyers.

The Monticello Railway Museum (Monticello, IL) has a GMD F7, painted as WAB 1189, which they use for excursions.
