Virginian 4-4-0 #295

Reading a old issue of Trains Magazine and they reported she was saved by the railroad when they were purging their older steam power in the late 1940's from the roster.

Can't find any references to her now and she doesn't show up in any list of preserved steam locomotives. Anyone know what went wrong after those initial plans of saving her?
