KCS in Baton Rouge in 1984

I am hoping for some help in identifying the photographs on these links. I took them in Baton Rouge, and frankly have zero idea why I didn't chase the train for a better picture. But, I can't go back in time.

Anyway... I'm curious if anyone knows where I was when I took these shots (I had just eaten at a barbacue restaurant after getting off the I-10.

Is this the L&A main line? What was it called at this time?

Also, that F7A... I can't read the number, but with only one grill and one porthole left, it seems unqiuely scarred. Does anyone know the road #?

The "F" unit you have caught there, is actually a slug. Used to boost tractive effort by pulling amps from powered units, the lack of any fans, exhaust or roof openings, are the clue. The KCS also hosted several "B" units slugs, as well as a fleet of cut down slugs. These locos, and then slugs, were in the classes of 4050 through 4070., and they did appear to keep their numbers, while being de-engined.
