An open house has been scheduled by the Keystone Chapter of the European Train Enthusiasts for Saturday, September 10th. The chapter's "clubhouse" is located in Ephrata, PA and, as our site has quite a few posters located in the northeast, I thought I'd share the announcement in case there is interest in attending. The hours will be 10AM to 4PM and the club is located in the CPC Science Press Building at 211 Terrace Avenue in Ephrata. Parking can be found in the West Chestnut Street parking lot between Terrace and Park Avenues. The club's HO modules will be on display with all types of European trains in constant operation.

I'm an ETE member so I'm planning to attend. Perhaps some of us would have an opportunity to meet.

Best regards,
Bob

Just glancing at it here, there is a photo of a small Italian cab forward engine on one of the pages. That interests me because I'm interested in the Southern Pacific cab forwards.

I'm pretty sure I saw a discussion about non-US cab forwards somewhere, maybe here or on FOTR, a few years ago. There were a few different types in a few countries, but I seem to remember they were all relatively small compared to the US ones, and not terribly successful.

Here's a link to an article dug up on the internet, about cab forwards in several countries, including the UK. The photos are of Italian engines. The tenders carried water only, and coal was carried along side and above the fire box. http://www.steamlocomotive.com/cabforward/other.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
