I'm looking for a few spots to sit close to Phoenix and watch trains. Something with good traffic (is there any?). I haven't been there since '99. Thanks.

Phoenix has become a freight train endpoint,UP has severed the former SP main to Yuma at Kofa, only locals
run west of Phoenix to maybe Buckeye at the most currently, there is some back "alley" industrial trackage in use,
BNSF still uses their yard in the center of Phoenix, not sure if they still use the street runnning interchage track to UP.
Near Glenndale is the BNSF intermodel yard.
Not sure if AZ+CA still runs into Phoenix on trackage rights, closest UP mainline action is Gila Bend or Casa Grande
(ex-SP Gila sub)where the Sunset Ltd runs.
