I took a friend for a ride on ARA this afternoon. The man was celebrating his 91st birthday today, is a WWII veteran, and is (long) retired from NYC, PC and CR after a career of about 45 years. He had a fantastic time. It has been a while since I was there but the operation ran very smoothly and professionally, good friendly people and nice entertaining ride.

I know, I know, that's what you pay your money for, but these days you don't always get what you should. We all complain when something goes wrong, myself included. Just thought I'd give them a plug for doing everything RIGHT today.

We all love to see railroads operating. One way to help keep these folks going is to bear them in mind next time you get out-of-town company, a kids birthday party, a reward for Junior's soccer team, or a random gift for someone. I'm preaching to the choir I'm sure, but it makes a fun afternoon.
