Railway Gazette: Completion of Ankara - Konya high speed line is significant step

Turkey has also been building high-speed railroad lines, targeting a speed of 250 km/h / 155 mph.

In 2009, Turkey's railroad company opened most of a line between Ankara and Eskisehir, to the west. It is now running test trains on a line between Polatli, on that line, and Konya, to the south, and revenue service should start in a few months.

They are building a line from Eskisehir northwestward to Istanbul, and they plan several more lines, westward to Bursa and Izmir, southeast to Kayseri, and east all the way to Kars. At Istanbul, they are building the Marmaray tunnel under the Bosphorus strait, which is expected to be complete in 2013. Westward from Istanbul is another planned high-speed line, to Edirne near the western border.

TCDD launches Eskisehir – Konya high speed service  - Railway Gazette
This is from adding a 5-km curve to the junction at Polatlı, a curve that connects the lines to Eskişehir and Konya from there. The rest of the wye connects to the line to Ankara.

They hope to open the Marmaray tunnel in Istanbul on October 29, in time for the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, and to start Eskişehir - Istanbul high-speed service by the end of this year. They also intend to work on these high-speed lines:
Ankara - Sivas
Polatlı - Izmir
Eskişehir - Bursa
Konya - Gaziantep
