Milwaukee Streetcar - Follow Our Momentum

Milwaukee Streetcar - Construction News: the track has been laid on most of the initial route, and installation of overhead-cable poles has started.

Milwaukee Streetcar - Route shows the initial route with several proposed extensions. The next one may be a loop that extends to the waterfront, or else the Milwaukee Streetcar - Fourth Street Extension.

I'm guessing that the line will open for service either late this year or sometime next year.

Brookville delivers second car: ProgressiveRailroading.com
The city of Milwaukee earlier this week took delivery of its second streetcar vehicle from Brookville Equipment Corp.

The 83,000-pound vehicle traveled via truck from the company's plant in Brookville, Pennsylvania, to Milwaukee.

The unit was rolled off the truck on West St. Paul Avenue and then moved inside the streetcar system's adjacent operations and maintenance facility, according to a press release issued by the Milwaukee Department of Public Works.

On-street testing of both streetcars will continue on West St. Paul Avenue, with testing along the full initial route to begin in summer.

Detroit and Dallas, which are in service today, use the same streetcars. Oklahoma City will join Milwaukee in running them soon. Could you make a trip to either Big D or the Motor City soon?
