That's the "Blue" Unit train, the "Red" Unit train is headed to Manchester NH at this time.

Heard a rumor today that the train (the Red Unit) may be routed by Pan Am west to to East Deerfield and then down the Conn River Main Line to Springfield next Monday. If this happens it will most likely take place after the NB Vermonter departs Greenfield at 4:22 pm.

(cross-posted from the Ringling thread in the Museums forum)

Anyone know where the circus train will be parked in Manchester, NH? It looks like there's a few sidings next to the Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, but for all I know they park the train well outside the city.

Everyone:

As of today - April 19th - this is the remaining RB B&B Circus schedule:

Red Unit - "Circus Xtreme":
April 21 to 23 in Manchester, New Hampshire - SNHU Arena
April 27 to 30 in Hartford, Connecticut - XL Center
May 4 to 7 in Providence, Rhode Island - Dunkin Donuts Center

Blue Unit - "Out of this World":
April 20 to 23 in Baltimore, Maryland - Royal Farms Arena
May 4 to 7 in Charleston, West Virginia - Charleston Civic Center
May 12 to 21 in Uniondale, New York - Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum

As we all are taking note time is running out to see the final performances of the RB B&B Circus.

The Red Unit ends their performance schedule in New England somewhat close in proximity to
one another while the Blue Unit does more travel and then ends up on Long Island to literally
end the RB&B Circus run and return south for the final time next month.

On April 10, I saw one of the Circus Trains heading north and upgrade to Clarks Summit on the NS, former D&H, originally Lackawanna Main Line out of Scranton. I only caught a glimpse of a few of the passenger cars as I was driving on a rather busy road.

If I had my good camera, I might have tried to beat it to Tunkhannock Viaduct. That would have been quite a final sight of the Circus Train for me. I hope someone caught it there.

I chased it from the crossing in Forge Village to route 3a in Tyngsboro. I probably will never see the sizes of the crowds on that line ever again.

The move from Hartford to Providence RI via Worcester Mass, could also be an overnight move.
There's no set schedule in the Circus train moves, and how the various RR Dispatchers handle the Circus Train.
I've heard from two sources now that the Red Unit will move next week via Pan Am to East Deerfield and then south to Springfield on Conn River Line to Springfield. Not sure whether Pan Am would/could take it to Hartford or Connectiuct Southern would take it. I guess we won't have any confirmation of this until it does, or does not, actually happen.

With the given of PAR/PAS 10 mph MAS,the route on the Trains map shows "reverse route" to Worcester via Ayer for CSX hand off
Believe on CSX the Circus train has a 40 mph MAS. It would take too long at 10 mph to go via East Deerfield to Springfield. :(

The Conn River Line, from the VT-MA border to Springfield, was totally rebuilt a few years ago. The MAS for freight trains on most of the line is now 40 mph. Passenger speeds are as high as 79 mph. I can't speak for the Patriot Corridor.

I've heard from an AAPRCO member private car owner colleague, who was happy to announce that he is the winning bidder for RBBX 41406.

http://rrpicturearchives.net/rspicture.aspx?id=7645

This car is a former 44 seat leg-rest coach built by Budd in 1950 for SP 2365 for their Sunset LImited. Later Amtrak 4018 then 4428. He said he was told Feld Entertainment received heavy bidding for this car. He said the stainless steel fluting is nearly perfect, and the car has new tanks underneath and the 4 wheelsets are almost news. The original coach interior was gutted and replaced, the original window line was significantly modified, and wider end doors were installed, when the car "ran away to join the circus."

Hopefully, within one or two years, this car will be refurbished and enter revenue service on the Cincinnati Railway Company's dinner train.

As for me, I did not bid on any of the RBBX cars or equipment. I'm content with MOUNT VERNON (PPCX 800708). If I feel the urge to buy another private car, it would be a dome.
