Ringling Bros performing at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY from 2/23-3/3.
Anybody know the status of the circus train at this time? If so what time will it be going through NY Penn Station and on what track? Thanks

The Circus Train will be in NJ for the Barclay Center shows, believe in a CSX/CR share Assets Yard.
Will stay there untill the move to Trenton NJ on 03/13/17(Newark NJ shows 03/08 - 03/12)
The LAST move to LIRR Garden City Secondary will be during the overnight hours on 05/10-11/17 thru NY Penn,
with a hand off to the LIRR at Harold Interlocking.
The shows at Uniondale LI are 05/12-05/21/17.
The LAST move thru NY Penn for this train(the"Blue" unit) is during the overnight hours of 05/22-23/17 with a
hand off to Amtrak at Harold interlocking from the LIRR,headed to their base in Fl.

The LAST move of the "RED" unit train thru NY Penn may happen during the overnight hours of 05/08-05/09/17
from RI (P&W/Amtrak) to their base in Fl

All Circus Train moves thru NY Penn are "straight lined" on the center tracks of the station.

main question is what does this have to do with Amtrak??

All of the Circus train moves thru NY Penn have been handled by Amtrak, and some of the other moves to venues along the NEC.
Before Amtrak,it was PRR,then PC/CR that made the circus train moves thru NY Penn

I've been on many an Amtrak train where a full 3 ring circus broke out. Haven't you? ;)

More the the point, on the NEC it's an Amtrak crewed revenue move.

Do the new electrics have a freight mode on the brakes?
That was one reason you didn't see the AEM7 on the Circus train.. They did manage to get the HHP8 software updated with the freight brakes

Shame we cant get the E60 603 to pull the last Circus train on the corridor. The big E60s were perfect for the circus train and ruled over it on the NEC.

Does any one know what time the train will be heading to Trenton on March 13? Will it be a very late night move? I'd like to take the kids, if it's not too late, to the Jersey Avenue train station to show them. Also, what will be it's call sign on the scanner?

Backshop, is it possible that both trains will be in close proximity to each other on or around...May 9th, 10th or 11th?

PAR/PAS and P&W are handling the RED unit to Providence RI,the planed next stop was to be Mobile Al,instead it's the trip
back to the "home" base in Fl. The move would not start untill the early eveing after the show has packed everything on board
IF the Red unit is sent down the NEC,that train will pass thru NY Penn while the Blue unit is on the move from Charleston Wv
to Uniondale off of NS rails at Richmond,CSX to DC,AMTK(NEC) to Harold,LIRR Mainline to Queens interlocking, then the Hempstead Branch,
to Garden, then the Garden Secondary to camp on.

It's possible both trains may pass each other on the NEC,no idea where.

The move from Newark NJ to Trenton NJ will be an overnight move on the NEC

Last month's issue of Trains magazine noted that as part of its final run, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus train will be running on the New Haven-Springfield Line sometime this upcoming weekend (April 21-23). I live about ten miles from the Windsor Locks station, so I thought it would be neat to try to spot the train and witness part of the end of an era in the history of American rail operations and of the United States in general. I was wondering if anyone had any inside information as to the date and time when the train is supposed to pass through Windsor Locks. Or is the train like most freight trains and has no set time scheduled for its operation?

That move is from Manchester NH to Hartford Ct,could be a overnight move depending on when PAR hands off to CSX at Worcester Mass.
The move from Hartford to Providence RI via Worcester Mass, could also be an overnight move.
There's no set schedule in the Circus train moves, and how the various RR Dispatchers handle the Circus Train.
