Final design unveiled for new France – Italy link | International Railway Journal
FOLLOWING extensive public consultation, Lyon Turin Railway (LTF) presented the final draft of plans for the cross-border section of the new Lyon – Turin line to Italy's Minister of Economic Development, Infrastructure and Transport Mr Corrado Passera at a meeting of Italy's higher council of public works on January 31.
The line will run from the existing line at Saint Jean de Maurienne, France to Susa, Italy, and then to the existing line again at Bussoleno. It will run in a tunnel for most of the distance between Susa and Bussoleno, likely because of the controversy that this line has provoked about its effects on the Susa Valley.
