Years ago the New Haven Railroad had a creosoting plant for the wooden ties at Cedar Hill Railyard. Is there still a plant there to creosote the ties ?
If not ,where are all the creosote ties coming from these days ?

They are probably creosote plants all over. Florence SC has one. Couple of years ago, marketing wanted to order a million ties from them. That's probably just a drop in the bucket.

Thank You 10moreyears for answering my post. They are putting new ties here on the Springfield line which runs off the Northeast Corridor and with so many bundles of ties along the tracks,I was wondering where they were coming from. Thanks again. - Frank
