As to dutch's comments, when ya have the goverment starting to make good on the promise of socialism the smart people will really quit spending. There wasnt even the Christmas rush this last year with the double stacks or the Z trains.

The link worked fine when I put it up. If you're removing the link why not just delete the post...it's worthless without the link. I was just following the protocol that was given to me by another Mod. about NOT posting articles, rather, posting a link. Sorry for the confusion.

What website had the story. We may be able to look the article up that way.

I'm seeing more and more manifest trains on the UP than ever before. A very telling sign of the economy for sure. Especially when you see the amount of cars parked in sidings from Grand Junction, Co to Winnemucca, NV.

I would agree the trains are a bit shorter than normal but general merchandise trains seem to be increasing in numbers just a bit with the stack trains getting shorter. But then and again less stack trains dose mean less Chinese made crap coming into the country and I like that! If your in a Union rember BUY UNION BUY AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS!

You do realize your President is selling the country to the Chinese... for all the stuff liberals and Oprah feel are important.

As far as train traffic there buddy its still in free fall. Things are not getting any better, i dont think theres a better view of whats going on then Union Pacific's Overland.

Yeah its time that the smart people who know whats going on step up to the plate and remove the current government and replace it with one that will stand up to China and tell them to get out!

Your beliefs on the matter are not the same as mine there buddy. Trade protectionism and buy America is only gonna make things worse. China isnt the problem. Government handouts, social entitlements...... those are the things i believe that need fixing for a better country. I'd bet something is gonna happen, ive been doing alot of reading on the stuff they dont teach in schools about the great depression, and some history on how far things have to go before there is real civil unrest. This country isnt set up to be guarantee on prosperity, its only a chance at it, thats what freedom is. Socialism is gonna be the death of us.

There is a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed I see it every day with all the trash collecting welfare and so forth following there relitives as they go to prison. I do think that these major corporate CEO's and there hord need to be striped of all there money and booted out the door. Companies that cry that they need Government money because there in poor shape then get the money and give it to the CEO and other high ranking officials should be confiscated and
Nationalized by the Government for a 10 year period for restructuring and Major auditing to see where there sending there money and remove all the greedy people who are involoved with the company and replace them with people who will be monitored by the government with the expections that they will make money for the company with out asking for bailouts.
