HONESDALE, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) - For more than two decades, re-establishing commuter train service between Scranton and New Jersey has been talked about but it hasn't gotten very far.

The operator of the Stourbridge rail line in Wayne County now wonders if Honesdale is a better option.

It has now been four years since the operator of the Stourbridge Railroad brought back train rides to Wayne County.

More than 12,000 people took one in 2017 alone but now Tom Myles is dreaming bigger by thinking about establishing commuter and freight service with the New Jersey area.

"My goal is to bring them both ways, take them down into New Jersey to go to work and bring them out of New Jersey to enjoy and live up here!" Tom Myles, Stourbridge Railroad operator said.

So I rode aboard the Stourbridge Line on a beautiful sunny day last month. The F7 is a nice addition! Another F7 in fresh Erie Lackawanna paint was sitting nearby, not operational yet but I believe close to being fully restored.

Any idea who owns the two private cars tagging along on the back of the train?
