Reading & Northern and Towanda

What ever happened the the R&N takeover of the Towanda Monroeton Shippers Line for frac sand use? The line on Google maps looks even worse once out of Towanda a bit.

Never panned out.

The R&N purchased 1.5 miles of the line, sale completed on December 30, 2009 with Shaffer's Feed Mill owning the remainder or so it was related to me.

Flooding washed out the line prior to August 1, 2012. No repairs effected.

The Lehigh Railway presently serves Growmark in Towanda under contract from the R&N.

R&N bought this expecting to land the north end of the Lehigh Line and of course did not get it, so it's been kind of a thorn in their side since.
