Norfolk Southern plans to run a series of steam-train excursions for its employees this summer, including two weekends of trips in July expected to use rail lines in northwest Ohio.

The company has listed 11 weekends for the special trips to commemorate Norfolk Southern's 30th corporate anniversary.

The Nickel Plate Road 765 -- built at Lima Locomotive Works in 1944 -- will power the trains.

Specific routes and schedules were not disclosed. Tickets are unlikely to be available to the public, but the special trains are likely to pass through the area. A previous statement from the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, which owns and runs the steam engine, listed Toledo and Bellevue, Ohio, among expected excursion locations.
