There are bits and parts of the NYB&M still in the woods in Dutchess County NY. That railroad had graded the line and was about the lay down track when they went bankrupt in the financial panic of 1873. If you know where to look you can still find the roadbed and unfinished bridge abutments that have been there 130 years.
