I may be just as far "off base" but I THINK i recall being told the new owners decided they didn't have any use for rail and sold the locos off not long after getting them. Hopefully somebody can give us more certain info.
Topic got my interest in the depot so picked up copy of “ THE SENECA ARMY DEPOT - Fighting wars from the NY Home Front.
Quite a undertaking that had the initial base up and running within 6 months using 1000’s of workers .
What I didn’t realize that most of the work done there was assembling munitions and was the supply base for troops in Europe.
Does make mention that in order to bring in the vast construction equipment they had to “ reopen the RR station at Kendaia “ and greatly expand its rail sidings to handle the 24/7 activity.
