Just to give everyone a heads up. The deadline for comments to the APA on their end run around the ruling handed down on their attempt to destroy the railroad is Monday, May 7th. The address to send comments via e-mail is
[email protected] the option favored by many supporting the railroad is option 1, which means do nothing.
The APA has deliberately attempted to limit public comment by rushing the public comment period to a quick conclusion, not holding hearings other than in snowmobile and ARTA friendly locations, and to confuse matters further, named this little dirty work proposed as option 6, which previously the option preferred by the 1996 unit management plan and railroad supporters. I would encourage all railroad supporters to e-mail at least something in support of option 1, and preservation of the railroad. There is reason to believe that the APA
is taking comments only to make it look like this is a public discussion, and not that Lee Keet and Cuomo have already dictated the outcome. Some comments have been believed to been "lost" by the APA in this sham of a discussion. If you write and submit comments, be sure to save them and the date and time they were submitted. This isn't over yet.
I'm sure Tony Goodwin will appraise the APA decision makers and Mr. Keet that possibly some pro rail comments may need to be well, "reviewed".
Save the discussion on here. Spend that time writing and submitting comments to the address above, and copy your local newspaper and elected official. The APA proposal is available for viewing on their user unfriendly website.
