At least some are expanding in NY.
located on the Finger Lakes, maybe a future customer.

"Seneca Falls, N.Y. — ITT Corp. today unveiled the latest addition to its manufacturing plant in Seneca Falls — a $22 million testing and packaging facility for pumps used in the petrochemical, mining, and oil and gas industries."

"Novelis, a global aluminum supplier, is seeing a 45-year-old dream come true as the auto industry is on the cusp of making the lightweight material mainstream.

Novelis is supplying aluminum for the 2015 Ford F-150 that goes on sale later this year. The supplier is expanding its Oswego plant for a third time, and Ford can use everything it can make."

RSD15,
The ITT facility is the Goulds pumps manufacturing center. While NYC maintained trackage into the facility years ago, the Fingerlakes merely just has rails by the plant.
Update on power as well:
3124, sister unit to 3126 is now sitting on the Phelps Sungas spur in Geneva Yard, with what was rumored as bad wheelsets. 3126 still handles the GS2 when the extra power is needed. Spoke to an engine maintenance employee not too long ago, 1989 has had the major issue fixed, and was on trial runs to find any more bugs. 1703 has returned to Geneva for a short while and is now sporting Remote Control Equipment, probably for ease of operation if it returns to Fort Edwards.
FGLK MOW crews have been pretty active as well; noticed a new crossing installation down on North St in Seneca Falls by the Landfill. Did a great job on that crossing. Have heard of other improvements going on as well.

TPIWWOP!

(This Post Is Worthless Without Pics!)

Painted as in touched up, or painted as into black and lightning stripes? And just to revive a long-dead discussion, when will it become 2302?

Will be on Keuka again this year, from Sept. 25 to Oct. 9.
Has FGLK been running to Penn Yan since the flood?
Is there any regularity in schedule? Last year, the ex-P&W unit was in Himrod.
It would be nice to see some other power.

Yes, but quite intermittently -- maybe once every couple of weeks. 2301 has been the motive power from Himrod to WG for most of the summer.

Does the FGLK frequency to Penn Yan increase in the fall to coincide with the grain harvest? Seems as if the Lakeview Grain Co-op is the only large customer, with maybe Birkett Mills and the plastics company generating some loads as well?

Not really, as far as I can tell. I believe that Lakeview leases cars for temporary grain storage capacity beyond that of their silos so they will get a few more in this time of year for that purpose. Silgan receives a covered hopper of plastic pellets every so often. In terms of Birkett's, I've never seen much rail action at their warehouse. Probably the most rail action that occurred in PY in the recent past was when the cars in longterm storage up near Bellona were moved out a couple of months back.

Interesting about Lakeview. So do they actually ship any grain out via rail?
