On my trip to DC yesterday, I noticed there was a string of hoppers being stored in that new Delco Lead Yard.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to check it out.

I've been wanting to share these as I have a question, but hey, better late than never as the old saying goes.

On February 22nd, I was at Metuchen station and I saw this Metuchen Yard local shove east past the station and then head west. I didn't have a scanner so I am not sure what job this was. The train was all ACF covered hoppers. This was shortly after one o'clock.

NS GP38-2 5312: http://octrainguy.rrpicturearchives.net ... id=4427381

After shoving past the signal and a brief wait, Amtrak gave them the okay to proceed west:

Any information on what local this is would be appreciated. Thank you.

Nice to actually see a caboose on the NEC.

Anyone know if there are any freights on the corridor going through Elizabeth anymore? I tend to think not, but it's hard for me to vary my "train time", so perhaps it's happening overnight or at other odd times.

What comes to my mind is the transfer freight between Oak Island and Metuchen, but I don't know exactly when that runs. A hunch would say during the overnight.

ME47 runs around 1-2am out of Oak Island. Not sure on what days though

I saw two locals working yesterday, ME-2 was in National Can and another working off the "0" in the receiving yard. I will guess the other was the ME-10?

A quick report on today's ME-2.

I heard them working the National Can lead after 1:30 and a little after 2pm they were getting permission to head west to County. They arrived around 2:30pm.

Here they are shortly after arrival, on the Millstone, preparing to run around the short train:

During the run-around process, two Amtrak regionals passed on the NEC:

They then spent quite a while working the plastics customer on the Delco Lead:

There are a lot of covered hoppers in there! I had to leave shortly after that, but I heard on the radio that they also had work on the Millstone. Busy day...
