Pertaining to all railroading subjects, past and present, in New Jersey

Adding to the awful things that have befallen other NJ-based rail history groups of late, Whippany Railway Museum has become the latest (thankfully on a far less smaller scale) to share some bad news.

Within the last 24 hours or so, a cast iron "DERAIL" warning sign that has been displayed outdoors for the last 50 years has been stolen... wooden post and all. A photo is attached of the sign, which bears some markings, distinctive to only this particular sign.

Please pass along the word, and please let WRyM know if you happen to see this pop up on an online auction site like eBay, or other places.

This Saturday,May 20th., Armed Forces Day Event at the Museum, caboose trips starting at 12noon,1,2,3,4pm.I heard that the trips will be going West out of Whippany, instead of East. The Military Transport Association will have restored
military vehicles on display. This event is a fund raiser for the Museum and to support the annual "Toys for Tots" Train.
