Here are a few photos from last Thursday, August 18th:

First, the SA31 passing the lead for the Freehold Secondary.
Second, passing through the grade crossing for Old Tavern Road. I knelt down for more of a looking up view.
Third, the train at Maxim Road with some cars who weren't sure of the train's visual approach. In defense of the drivers in this case, the grade crossing wasn't consistently staying on as the train approached the crossing.
Last, but not least, one view of the train in Lakewood as the sun sets for the day.

Enjoy the photos!

had my mom take me up into farmingdale on their return trip. About 3 kids hopped on the train, my mom called the cops so anyone else watching for the sa 31 keep your eyes open for people on the train! They were like 20 years old.

Good shots, Steve; let's hope Hurricane Irene weakens enough to spare the line any major problems.......

Today on the return trip while i was sitting in my moms car in the parking lot I also noticed the Main St. Crossing getes and flashers did not work, the conducto had to get out and flag the train.

Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it. I wasn't able to get out yesterday at all as the traffic was already strong as people left the evacuation points.

Don't know for sure, but I don't think so. Fridays SA-31 went to the Hightstown Industrial, so hopefully they'll run down the Southern next week if track inspection is complete.

A gloomy day, but at least the rain stopped (for now); glad to see the line survived Irene.......
