Recently saw this bulkhead attached to quite a few tank cars right by the broadway crossing. I’m guessing these beams are for Caso Bay Steel. It’s my first time seeing a load like this on the branch. I’m guessing a locomotive was at the other end of the consist, seeing how the gates were left open. I’m not sure if the branch has any consistent schedule. Sometimes I see the Turners Island trackmobile moving a few cars across Elm St further down the line pretty early in the morning or very late at night. Other than that I’ve only seen a locomotive sitting infront of Docks Seafood once in 2016 at around noon. Does anybody have a schedule made up for the branch?

Hello, I am new here and found much interest in your thread. I am currently modeling this line in Ho scale. I also modeled a diorama of the college rd crossing.

I am very interested in any info and photos that anyone may have on this branch. I am currently modeling from Rigby to Turner island in Ho scale. I also modeled a diorama of the Greenbelt branch that runs off this line. The area of the diorama is College Rd. crossing beside Hannafords.

Welcome!

Seems like T.I.R.R. would be fun to model. :-)

On a related note, CSX is currently doing track work on their spur that connects to the Turners Island Railroad. I saw CSX workers and equipment working on it every day last week. This is probably the first time in a very long time that any significant work has been done on that track.

Does anyone know what the boundary is between TI and CSX? Is it the fence on the north side of Broadway, or further south towards the yard? The blue sign with the emergency number for the Broadway crossing doesn't indicate an owner.

CSX owns up to, and including, the Broadway crossing; TI owns everything after the crossing.

Thanks! That setup makes the most sense anyway.

I just saw on the news a CSX Geep was idling on the tracks for 3-days. Looks like these tracks will get some good use. Some woman complained to the News and called the police on the railroad. I find that kinda odd, what did she think living next to the railroad tracks was ganna be like? If anyone watched the news....I like how the engineer honked the horn when they finally decided to move the locomotive. I would have done the same thing, Railroads are our life line, People need to lighten up alittle!
