With less than 50 members and not alot of revenue to do it with, it's going to take alot of time to renovate the structure, to make it weather proof, which it is not now.

What needs to be done to button it up?

The Bartlett Roundhouse Preservation Club took delivery of it's first two pieces of railroad history on October 29, 2009. Former Portland Terminal Russell Plow #68, constructed in 1923; and MEC 40ft wooden brace box car # 35059, which are owned by the Conway Scenic Railroad, arrived at approx 1030 hours for placement onto the only track leading into the roundhouse.

Harvey Simonds, 48, of Acton, ME and a member of the Cotton Valley Rail Trail Club passed away unexpectedly Saturday. Harvey was a great guy who volunteered for many good causes. He was instrumental in arranging the use of CRVTC's big chipper at the roundhouse. He brought the chipper over on his own time and his own fuel and refused reimbursement. He spent a full day with us running the chipper. The club has lost a great friend. Our condolences to Harvey's family.

Due to scheduling and other issues, the trip is now planned to end at 2nd Iron. If all works out, we MAY try to go a little further, but at this point we feel that Notchland is beyond where we can comfortably reach. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Is there any restoration work taking place or going to take place in the near future? Or is the club still just trying to raise money for restoration work to take place in the not too distant future?
