While dropping off some things to my new home in Whitefield, I made the trip over to Hazens to check things out. One spotted hopper on the Mountain, and two clear tracks on the other side of the road. There may be some tanks at the bottom on the Route 3 side, but I neither drove that way nor could see any of them through the thick foliage along 116. Appears that they've provided a tank free viewing of the trees for the CSRX riders on 9/3.

Missed an important move yesterday:

CSRX 1751 went down and grabbed the rusty cars stashed down west of the Route 116 crossing. Im guessing this is the first move over that crossing in roughly 20 years.

^I think so:

The boxcar in this pic looks to be the boxcar in the train above.

I think there are a few LVRC m.o.w. hoppers stored there:

For the first time I have seen nhcr at Hazens ! I cannot tell you how many times I have by there and never spotted anything. At any rate 7324 is laying over at Hazens tonight with 2 hoppers. The engine is shut down so no clue what the plan would be for heading back north. Hope to take a ride by in the am

It must have been moved before the Conway Scenic excursion. It had been positioned on the Mountain Division, tied down between the 2 derail units...positioned nicely at the milepost. They were offloading one of the hoppers on Friday. I will try and post a pic

NHCR 7324 came south thru Lancaster at 0730AM with one covered hopper and returned north with one covered hopper at 1115AM headed back to Groveton. Over the weekend up in Groveton there was a line of tank and box cars on the siding. Not sure if they are going into storage.

Hello,
On my way to a meeting in Lancaster around 0930 this morning, I found the NHCR working on their North Stratford Line. First, the GP9 7324 (looking sharp as always) plowed all of the tracks in the yard at Shops and north to a string of stored tank cars north of the yard. They then proceeded south to North Stratford, where they picked up a propane car to be spotted at Ryme's (two others were already there). Later, after my meeting around 1330, I noted that something had run north from Lancaster on the Groveton line as far north as the bridge over the Upper Ammo just outside Groveton. Not sure what was running there, but they did not clear all the way to the SLR.
Have a great night,
Fritz
P.S. SLR has been leaving whole trains on the sidings at Island Pond and Groveton intermittently over the past few weeks as they detour over CMQ and CPRS to Montreal while their bridge in Bromptonville is repaired.
