Anyone know what the plans are for the recent track work going on along rte 101A towards Nashua, NH? Looks like the trees and brush have been cleared away and I see piles of ballast very couple of miles. Are they looking to re-activate this ROW?

Thanks,

This line has always been active, that rail line by 101A is the Hillsboro Branch. I think that the ballast you see is just maintenace. Currently the speed limit on the line, the last I heard, was about 5 miles per hour. Maybe we'll see 10mph? That would bring it up to Class One standards. Anyone else have ideas what Guilford is doing? I took a ride out to Wilton Tuesday and didn't see any track work.

Related news, further up the Hillsboro Branch in Wilton, the Wilton Scenic Railroad is opening for the season Saturday. For Mother's Day Sunday, we are offering special rates for mothers. Check the WSRR website for more details about Sunday.
