Conway branch
Northern NH guys: Whats going on with the Rte 16 grade crossing in Ossipee? The one by the Pizza Barn. Went through there yesterday and noted a a silt dam around the ROW and an excavator squatting over the track on the east side of the highway. Guessing something to do with highway improvements, bridge construction further north,

Re: Conway branch
Looks like that section of Route 16 is getting some major rehab work done.

Re: Conway branch
The state is replacing 3 red list bridges that date back to to the 1950's, when the highway that is rte 16, was built. Two of the bridges are north of the grade crossing and one is south of it. The underlying surface and drainage system also dates back to the 1950's and is in need of and upgrade, so the state in addition to the bridge work will rebuild 3.5 miles of roadway. That means the tracks that have been buried in the pavement since the early to mid 1990's will be removed. Click on the link to read more plus click on the additional link at the bottom of the article to see the scope of work in detail.
