I have been going to Railpictures.net for years, they now have ads on there platform which is OK, but they are showing ads for nude photos, my 6 year old grandson likes to look at trains with me but does not need to see nude photo ads, I have reached out to Railpictures about this and have heard nothing back from them, needless to say we will not be going back to there site.
Just need to vent.

You would not have the ad problem if the site allowed Ad Blockers, there are too many adware sites that PUSH way too much crap thru, that will foul up your computer.
There's this horrible trend to paywall sites if you run ad blockers, the resulting Flood of ads if you white list is bad to the point of freezing your computer.
People just want the content NOT THE ADS RUINING THE SITE!!

I'm running an ad blocker & can connect to railpictures.net. You should make sure you don't have any viruses or malware installed on your machine. That may be the source of the porn. Try another browser, try turning off all plugins, try Safe Mode...

I find it interesting that publishers, especially newspapers, complain that they are losing so much money especially on the internet. Google is making money hand over fist selling ads / syndicating ads. Publishers are using google to host/syndicate the ads. I'd love to see ads from actual local merchants, love to see the same ads that appear in the print edition. But I'm getting off topic.

I just went to Railpictures.net and the only ads I got were for an asset management company (stocks and bonds) at the top and an ad for Lyft at the bottom. No racy ads or nudes. You probably have a virus in your system that redirecting your computer to sites that push those ads. I seriously doubt Railpictures.net is pushing ads with nudes in them.

I do follow several railroad related Tumblr feeds that do slip a nude or two into their feed now and then ... but hey, it is Tumblr so be warned.

Clear your browsing history and all cookies that are kept on your computer. Most of those ads are based on searches that you have done (look for used cars you will have used car ads) recently.

Last time I visited railpictures.net (a few months ago), it came up with a message saying I had to disable my ad blocker if I wanted to view the site. So I disabled it, and sure enough there were tons and tons of ads and it was a pretty miserable experience. I stopped visiting the site after that. However, I just tried visiting the site with my ad blocker enabled, and it seems to be working fine without any ads and without telling me to turn off my ad blocker. Maybe they got too many complaints and had to reverse their decision.

My experience is that if you're logged in as a member (and membership is free), you can employ an ad blocker without problems. At least that's how it works for me using Firefox with AdAware.
