I've just recently heard about this and was looking to inquire more information. I know that the sole engine was a Vulcan steam engine owned by the Gilman Paper Co., who retired it in 1956 (replaced by diesel). The engine was built (1911) for and used by the Berlin Mills Railway, until it was sold in 1944. All I know is that this railroad ceased operations in 1963. The engine was later donated to Steamtown and resides with the colection in Pennsylvania.
Was this the 1st of its kind "Heritage Railroad" in the state of NH?
What year did it start?
